Update : Mozilla Firefox 3.1 is released with Private browsing feature, Click here to read more about it and free download.

There is a tough pressure on Mozilla with the release of Chrome by Almighty Google. Firefox will have to consider some features of Google Chrome and add them in their release to be in race. Google Chrome has a Incognito mode in which all user activity involving data such as searches, visited web pages, downloads, cached pages, credentials passed to restricted sites, etc. is discarded once the user returns to normal mode. It might be popular by the name Porn mode among few bloggers.
Along with InCognito mode by Chrome, Microsoft too have added InPrivate mode in Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 release. It’s obvious that Firefox should also have some same kind of feature. While the Stealther addon can already provide this functionality, Firefox is looking to implement it in the 3.1 release before year’s end.
Many reasons (besides being infamously used as Porn mode) to use private mode are given on Mozilla Wiki which includes private browsing session to research a medical condition, or plan a surprise vacation or birthday party for a loved one.
